From one seeker to another, welcome friend…
…to my tiny safe haven hidden in the wilderness of the internet. Peek through the leaves and you'll see a rumbling fire and cup of hot cocoa, and a few sweet animals lounging around. My name is Marissa, I'm an Army officer, English teacher, writer, speaker, and a women’s Bible study leader. Critically, I’m a mother and wife. I love Jesus. You can learn more about me here.

Persist Through the Hard
Writing is hard. Exercising and eating right, that can be hard too. Working a full time job and being a full time wife and momma--also hard. Balancing those things and still seeking your calling every day? Feels impossible. Luckily, the God of the universe doesn't yield to our feelings! He calls us and He has given us a purpose. I recently completed my first Christian children’s book. Love Makes Us Brave. It took two years! God’s love made me brave to continue on even when the ending was uncertain. My hope is that this place is an encouragement to you wherever you are in your own creative journey asking ourselves two questions:
How do I become the woman God is calling me to be?
How do I become the momma God is calling me to be?
